We the undersigned support and agree with S.C.A.T.T. and demand that the Council immediately:

1. Withdraw their evening parking Charges, and
2. Review & Reduce their daily parking rates, and
3. Liberate the stolen and create new free day parking areas.

S.C.A.T.T. was established at the end of June 2009 by Local Citizens, Local Traders, Local Merchants, who are sickened by Chesterfield's disjointed, illogical, blinkered and short-sighted treatment and management of the town. We are in a recession. Businesses and traders are closing daily in the town. Footfall is falling away at unprecedented rates. The nature and character of our town are being irreparably damaged and destroyed by the Council's actions.

What did the Council do to help the situation?

• Increased the aggressive enforcement of the petty and vindictive evening parking charges.
• Increased daily parking charges.
• Spent huge sums on marking out the free parking areas and enforcing a less dense parking regime plus increasing the ubiquitous double yellow lines. Thereby effectively removing all short-term free parking to bully more parking charges out of our visitors and boost their coffers.

They are breaching the CONSTITUTION OF THE CHESTERFIELD BOROUGH COUNCIL -

Article 1 of the Constitution commits the Council to developing and promoting the Borough as an attractive place in which to live, work, visit and invest. Yeah Right!!!

We are open to anyone to support and are not aligned to or supported by any or all political parties. S.C.A.T.T. is for Chesterfield and its people and against the "Robber Barons" in the Town Hall and their cronies who view Parking Charges and fines as their unlimited, unending money-pit where we are their miners.
